Visual Merchandising 

Visual merchandising is the presentation of the store and it's merchandise in such a manner that will attract the attention of potential customers. It involves decorating the store keeping the  interior presentation the same as what is promised on the outside.The activity of developing the floor plans and tree-dimensional displays in-order to maximize sales. Goods displayed to highlight their features. The purpose of visual merchandising attract, engage and motivate the customer through their journey . .

Special emphasis should be placed on a store window displays because they are the information link to the potential customers. As many as four sales could be the result of a good window display. It should attract attention, create interest and invite people to enter into the store to purchase some items. In making window display, be careful not to crowd too much merchandise into the window, as a customers will find it difficult to understand the message and what items are being promoted by the store. It is also important to change the display frequently where customers who pass by frequently or even several time a week. Having new displays indicates new up to date items is available in your store.   


Why we do visual merchandising?


If there's two pasta in front of you, one have a thousand salad sauce and vegetables and the other one plain pasta salad  with sauce. Which would you prefer to eat? Both are pasta that maybe has the same taste.

Normally, we people usually choose the most attractive or appealing visually. In our mind, we go jump to the conclusion that the better look one is more tastier than the plain. We can relate it for some men out there, which most of them immediately attracted to a women with sexy body and good looking dress. The same concept as we applied in visual merchandising as well. We create an art which is appealing and can able to catch the eye of the customers and drive their interest in our store.  

As we look in the broader perspective of the importance of visual merchandising on the businesses specially in retailing, the single and most essential reason is to encourage and inspire the shoppers for to purchase more products as we want them to increase the sales, margin,, etc. Visual merchandising includes window and interior displays, sign, cosmetic promotions and any other special sales promotion taking place. That attraction that engage them to store design are typically start before stepping one foot into the ground of your shop.
